How the sensing works
Electrical Capacitance Tomography reconstructs the field between boundary electrodes, needing no window or probe. One architecture reads inside propulsion structures where the decisive condition would otherwise remain hidden.
Recovering the interior arrangement of material from boundary capacitance is an inverse problem, solved through electrode design, forward modelling and regularised reconstruction. It is a measurement method built around practical deployment, not a laboratory-only imaging system.
01 / EXCITE
Apply a field
One boundary electrode is driven in sequence around the measurement plane.
02 / READ
Record responses
The remaining electrodes read capacitance across the motor section many times a second.
03 / RECONSTRUCT
Solve the model
Software estimates internal distribution or targeted parameters from the same frames.
04 / COMPARE
Build history
Repeated measurements can be compared against a calibrated baseline for the same article.
01Software
The raw measurement is the enduring asset.
Capture once. Analyse more than once.
Tomographic reconstruction can describe where material properties differ. A direct, model-based calculation can instead follow a limited set of indicators. Both start from the same capacitance frames; retaining those frames makes it possible to improve analysis without repeating the original test.
